Every world has a legend about its creation, whether it's true or not. There are some who believe, and others who don't. Strezatis is no different; the legend is not proven to be true. But, still, it is a story that has been shared for many years; and will be shared with you now.
Amari drug herself out of bed, her hips aching from the combination of cold and the hard earth she slept upon. She shook the dry leaves that acted as her blanket from her fur, cringing at the feeling of stickiness that clung to her. Her eyes were bleary for the first few moments, so she focused on listening to the world awake around her. The stream ran cold to her left, and the sound of a Sparrow singing was to her right. Directly ahead, she knew she would find the den of her parents and, beyond that, the pack. Not her pack, of course. But, the pack that hated her enough to keep her captive. Finally, the bleariness left her eyes and Amari was able to venture to the stream where she took several long drinks before cleaning herself. She gazed at her reflection in the crystal clear water, hating herself for looking different.
That's what it was truly about, of course. Her fur, mostly white, gave her away as a predator; or as prey depending on who was watching. It made her a danger to the pack. So, why did they force her to stay? Because she was also the easiest to torture, abuse and hurt. Amari had handled it for a long time, but each day it became harder being an outcast among what should have been family. Wandering up the steep incline that led to the pack, Amari hated herself for not being brave enough to run. Or, better yet, just end all the suffering. But, she just couldn't bear to do it. She feared leaving her parents, for whatever unknown reasons. She knew they would probably be happier knowing their daughter was no longer being hurt at the paws of their pack mates-- but somehow the idea of giving them that freedom hurt her more than anything.
Luckily for Amari, she was being watched; and soon she would be given a gift.

Amari lasted for 5 years under the cruel conditions she was forced to endure before dying in a battle between her pack and a rival pack. Everyone knew she had been more than capable of fighting-- it didn't take a genius to know it was blatant suicide. Some, her parents, missed her; but others claimed it was for the best and they should all move on. So, the pack did. She was never an important asset to them; only a toy they could mercilessly hurt.
Upon her death, and her arrival to the after life, she was met by a God. He took her aside, a smile upon his gentle (and obviously old) face.
"Hello Amari." He began, his voice rough and calloused. "I am Regent. I have watched you for the last 5 years. Watched you struggle, watched you hurt, watched you persevere. I never expected you to last as long as you did. But, last... Well, you lasted! When you finally gave up, I knew you didn't truly wish to. Not with your entire heart. Just with the larger side. So, I want to offer you a gift. You see, I have a realm. You know the stories and myths of your world about one dog creating it all? Yes, well, I have a world similar to that... Only, I have no desire to create something new. Despite the heartache, the pain, that those in your world cause... I prefer watching them to making something. I don't know if I'm just too old or maybe I just don't have the courage. But, I'd like you to have it.
"You can implement whatever you wish from your old world. Any species, any nature, anything. And it will all start anew. Then, you will be the Goddesses who can choose to give them free will or who can control them." He gave a soft smile. "I know you will give freedom, and I know you will take control when necessary. The opportunity to do that, is my gift to you." And that was when he disappeared and Amari woke up on a white canvas.
She began by bringing trees, grass, dirt, and all the other aspects of nature she knew were important. Then she began bringing species. Humans, birds, cats, dogs, wolves... Everything she could think of. The world was good for several years before the plague it. No one, including Amari, knows what the plague was; but it killed off the entire human race.

Cobalt is a small town that Amari hid, making it the destination of only those who deserved to find it. Those who deserved to find it were pure of heart, bold in their choices, had rough pasts or simply needed a place to hide. She intended for it to be a secret place, but it's actually one of the most sought after towns in Strezatis. Fortunately, the secret aspect still holds and it will only be revealed to someone matching one of the original categories and someone taken there by a resident.
Cobalt never experienced humans, so rarely anyone in the town has-- but those who did before the plague sometimes wander if it was good luck from Cobalt itself to stamp out what could have become more foe than friend. Cobalt isn't owned by any individual, and is "manged" by everyone simply staying peaceful with one another.

Velux is the most important place in Cobalt. A large farm spanning most of the acreage around the town, it's where mostly everyone starts their lives in Cobalt. They have the options to leave, and make their own homes; but Velux remains a favorite and a great place to visit when you begin feeling down.
Current Times in Strezatis
It's currently the year 2018. The human killing plague swept Strezatis in 1995, and a war that resulted ended 5 years later in 2000. Since, Strezatis has continued to stray from Amari's original purpose of the world. Outside of Cobalt, each town has established borders; and states are beginning to be formed. Those once kind are corrupted, and small skirmishes are turning into war. Those in Cobalt steer clear as best they can, but otherwise Strezatis has become as corrupt as any realm. Amari is nowhere to be found.
